# Validate your API key

> Send a request to the ping endpoint to check that Zapnito accepts your API token. A good first call when setting up an integration.

Send a `GET` request to the ping endpoint with no other parameters to check that your token is valid. It's the simplest authenticated request you can make, so it's a good first call when you set up an integration.

For how the `Authorization` header works, see [authentication](/api/v1/authentication).

## Ping

```bash title="Validate your API key" theme={null}
curl "https://your-community.zapnito.com/api/v1/ping" \
  -H "Authorization: Token token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8"
```

`GET https://your-community.zapnito.com/api/v1/ping`

<ResponseExample>
  ```json 200 OK theme={null}
  {
    "message": "Nice one, your API key is valid"
  }
  ```

  ```text 401 Unauthorized theme={null}
  HTTP Token: Access denied.
  ```
</ResponseExample>

* `200 OK`: the API key is valid.
* `401 Unauthorized`: the API key is rejected.
